Lost Portraits

I take a lot of photographs each month, for personal projects and while on assignments. Inevitably, some images get lost in the shuffle once they’re edited and sent off to clients. They don’t make it to my website or my archive or anywhere else. They just kind of linger in that dead empty space I call the Adobe Lightroom Catalog. They pop up every now and then, usually when I’m looking for something else, and sometimes I’ll even think to myself: Hey, I kind of like that. But then five minutes later I’ve already moved on. Here’s a brief ode to those lost portraits. A writer, a helicopter salesman, a Malaysian groom, an Olympic hopeful, and a hip-hop dancer. Oh my.
