I’m in Hoi An right now photographing for a travel piece and a few commercial assignments as well. Today I was focused on walking around the Old Town and getting some nice filler shots. Street scenes and what not. Though I’m finding it hard to stray from the cliches. I’m trying but these damn golden walls in the late afternoon sun are to photographers what catnip is to little house lions. And it’s hot outside. Boiling in the shade hot. Which doesn’t do wonders for my creativity. It’s not even nine o’clock yet and I’m already beaten down and back in my room, cringing and weary from the day. The sun is an infinitely hot and dense dot down here. Unrelenting at best. And tomorrow I’ll be up at 5am for the morning market. So sweet brief dreams to me.
