These photographs are from a shoot I did yesterday of the Hanoi-based Dai-Lam-Linh, a collective of musicians that can best be described as some kind of post-folk traditional melange of contemporary influences wrapped in a good deal of punk rock aesthetics. But I’m bad at words and even worse at descriptions. They’ll be playing at the Hanoi Opera House this Saturday night. The images above were taken at the band’s practice at L’Espace, the French Cultural Center here in the capital. There isn’t really much to find about them online, but I did manage to come up with a few videos on youtube. You can view them here:

  1. I agree. It’s such that out here we get starved for good music, so finding out about Dai-Lam-Linh is a good deal more than just a breath of fresh air.
